The Mississauga Olympians would like to congratulate Sandra Guga for qualifying for the 2017 OFSAA Cross Country Championships. Sandra competing as a first year senior this year, ran a time of 26:33.9 for her 6km race, finishing 79th overall in a field of 271 competitors. Way to go Sandra! For representing yourself and the Mississauga Olympians Track and Field Club
OFSSA; the largest High School track and field event in Canada and 3rd largest in North America behind Texas and California. This year MO was well represented by 4 of our very talented ladies, Sandra Guga, Titilayomi Sijuade, Tunlano Oladipo & Tia Luke. Sandra competed in the Junior girls 1500m and finished 18th overall. Titi and Tunlano helped power the Midget girls 4x100m relay team of Loyola to a silver medal. Tia competed in the Junior girls High Jump and finished 11th overall. It is a very big achievement to make it to OFSSA and these ladies were very competitive in their respective events.
Congratulations to you all for working hard and attending the big show. Keep pushing for even bigger achievements.
Day 1 of the Minor Track Association Indoor Championship lived up to it’s anticipation highlighted by the performance of the Mississauga Olympians Track and Field Senior Boys 4x200m relay team at the Toronto Track and Field Centre. The 4 speedsters, Diarra-James Powell-Burgess, David Hurst Jr., Jalon Rose and Jadon Rose, powered their way to a 1st place finish while setting a new record. The previous record (1:36.90s) set in 2009 was ousted by the Olympians boys with a blistering time of 1:36.79s. The foursome continued their success throughout the day. Twins Jadon and Jalon Rose finished 1 and 2 in the Senior Boys 60m final with times of 7.36s and 7.37s respectively while David Hurst Jr. and Diarra-James Powell-Burgess finished 1 and 2 in the Senior Boys 400m with times of 56.26s and 56.56s respectively. Day 2 was equally as exciting with more exhilarating performances starting with the Senior Girls 800m where Olympians athlete Nicole McKenzie ran to a 1st place finish and personal best of 2:21.71s.
There were many other outstanding performances by Mississauga Olympians athletes throughout the weekend.

Congratulations to all athletes for their hard work. This wraps up the indoor season for the Mississauga Olympians Track and Field Association. We will continue competition for the outdoor season starting in May with many local meets in the GTA as well as travelling to the US for international meets.
On February 25th, the Minor Track Association held it’s annual Rick Westwood Athlete of Excellence Banquet. MO was well represented and our athletes brought home an abundance of hardware. Congratulations to the following athletes for coming to the track with Purpose, for striving for Progression and for Persevering to be a better you.

We would like to take the time to recognize and thank all volunteers for their hard work on Feb. 18th at the Mississauga Olympians Indoor Meet. Although we were hit with many delays beyond our control, you all stuck it out for the entire day. This meet had over 560 athletes from 46 clubs; one of the largest meets this year. Thank you for making this day possible!

Congratulations to Nicole McKenzie on finishing 1st place in the 800m and powering the 4x200m relay team to a win at the Team Ontario vs. Team Quebec meet on February 11th. Nicole ran the 800m in a time of 2:22.37. Thank you for your hard work and for representing MO. Keep up the hard work!
Congratulations goes out to Nicole McKenzie who has qualified as a member of the Team Ontario. Nicole will be representing the Mississauga Olympians and Ontario in the Ontario vs. Quebec Midget Dual Meet. We are very proud of Nicole and this huge accomplishment.

Mississauga twins break track record: Rose brothers triumph at Bullet Indoor Games
Twin brothers Jadon and Jalon Rose from the Mississauga Olympians Track and Field Club each had a strong showing at the Brampton Bullets Indoor Games on Sunday, Jan. 22 at the Toronto Track and Field Centre.
Competing in the senior boys’ 50-metre dash, they each broke the previous Minor Track Association of Ontario record set by Wesley Best in 2008.
Jadon set the new standard, clocking in at 6.33 seconds, one hundredth of a second faster than his brother.
